As the Crow Flies – a FREE creative workshop!

May 24: As the Crow Flies is a community-engaged public art project bringing creative connections to urban birds directly into hands of Vancouverites. Help them make 6,000 ceramic baby Northwestern crows using hand-press molds in a FREE workshop.

As the Crow Flies is a community-engaged public art project offered by Emily Carr University of Art and Design that brings creative connections to urban birds directly into the hands of the citizens of Vancouver. As the Crow Flies is a 10-kilometre community public art project consisting of diverse artworks designed to engage and educate the public about what they can do to help reverse the environmental problems that include loss of biodiversity, climate change, and species decline. The projects called Fledglings, Nesting Nests, and Bird Play, are fun, hands on temporary artworks that bring together and empower local communities to learn how to make positive environmental changes on personal, community, and even national levels.

The 2018 Pandora Park Fall Festival is on the 23rd of September!

The 2018 Pandora Park Fall Festival will be as much fun as in previous years: we will have a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon twisting, games, youth BBQ, and a local band.

This year the entertainment will be provided by Murfitt & Main – country music, Americana, bluegrass and western.

Pandora Park is located at 2325 Franklin Street (one block off of Hastings at Nanaimo)

This year we had many more applications than in previous years, but a smaller budget, and as a result we had to make some difficult decisions. But despite the limited resources, we were able to allocate funds to 16 amazing community projects.

  1. Tye Dye Fest with Rosina
  2. Adanac Neighbourly Garden and Connections
  3. Community Gathering Seating Area within Hastings Community Centre Learning Garden
  4. Alley Rally
  5. Family Enrichment Day With Kids
